A new heirloom design from an older time. Quality safety glasses, beautifully built to last. Pass down the look - and the memories made in them.
The idea for Brass Eye started in 2017 in Chicago. While working on a project with his friend, Zack Wallace realized that every tool they had on their tool bench was beautifully designed and made to last, except their safety glasses.
Safety glasses are notoriously cheap, ugly and disposable after a few uses. But his safety glasses were the one tool he used all day long. He wondered if he could create a safety eyeglass that was as strong and beautifully designed as his other tools.
So he started Brass Eye to create the first heirloom-quality safety eyeglass giving other craftsmen, designers, hobbyists and professionals could have an iconic, industrial strength safety eyeglass to wear while building beautiful things.
Each pair is designed to develop its own special scrapes and patina over time so that when the next generation uses them, they're furthering a legacy.
It took almost a decade to design, manufacture, test and finish an iconic, industrial-strength safety eyeglass - but finally, the Brass Eye Double Cross is here.
Brass Eye is the very first luxury acetate, safety eyewear brand in the world. Where you can have style and safety on every project.
The frames are made with luxury-grade, natural, hypoallergenic acetate that is incredibly durable, flexible and lightweight.
We chose acetate because it is light enough to wear all day, strong enough to last for years and will slowly mold to your face to create a look uniquely you.
The internal quarter-edge temple cores, the Phillips-screw-inspired front stamps, and seven-barrel reinforced hinges are all made of German white copper.
The lenses are optical-grade, impact-rated, crystal-clear UV400 nylon. All lens were tested and certified by the independent third party, Colt Labs.
These glasses were inspired in Chicago, designed in the foothills of Appalachia and manufactured by hand in a close-knit community in the PRC.

Our lifetime warranty policy applies to all claims submitted. To see if you are eligible or to submit a warranty claim, follow the instructions here.
The lifetime warranty only applies to the original purchaser and covers manufacturer defects. Absolutely no warranties, refunds or replacements will be approved for user misuse, abuse, damage, destruction, neglect or lack of care.
So, if you run them over with your tractor, drop them on the driveway, hit them with an axe, leave them out in hellish weather, shoot them with a gun, put them in a fire, lend them to a careless friend, or in any other way, shape or form cause the damage yourself — that obviously does NOT qualify for a replacement.
But if we receive the item and the product itself has failed because of a manufacturing defect, we will absolutely approve your warranty and promptly send you a new pair!
After a hard day’s use, wipe them down, slide them into their snap sleeve and keep them somewhere they won’t get smashed, squished, kicked, bitten, stepped on, sat on, spit on or damaged in any other way.
In other words, when not using them, keep them safe but please don’t keep them secret.
